It’s pretty obvious that two of my great loves are handbuilt ceramics and cats. So when I am left with a small scrap of clay, of course I’m going to turn it into a mini cat.
This little guy is made of a pale stoneware. After forming the shape, I handpainted the face and body with underglaze. After a firing first as bisque and then with clear glaze, I added 22k gold luster stripes before a third and final firing.
This pretty kitty is approximately 2.25” tall, and is signed on the bottom.
