Is it a lady wearing the costume of a cat wearing a sweater, or is a cat wearing a sweater eating a lady? Could go either way!
This large vase was carefully handbuilt with stoneware and handpainted with underglaze. Her inside has a matte green glaze and the outside is clear glazed except for her face which is unglazed. After firing to cone 6, I added additional patterns and detail with 22k gold luster before firing a third and final time.
This piece is approximately 7.5”L x 7.5”W x 10”H, and is signed on the bottom.
