This happy cat vase was handmade from rolled slabs of a pale stoneware. One the shape formed, I handpainted the face and flowers with underglaze. After applying a clear glaze on the outside and pink colored glaze to the inside, this excited kitty was fired to cone 6. Lastly, I added stripes around the face with 22k gold luster and put through the kiln for a third and final firing.
This vase is approximately 7.5” tall and is signed on the bottom.
