They say every piece is a self portrait and that is most definitely true of New York City Mommy. While I only had one child strapped to my front, on my back I carried groceries, laundry, or bolts of fabric (before I made ceramics I was a dress maker!).

I handbuilt this piece with tinted porcelain and handpainted with underglaze. She was then bisque fired and once glazed, fired a second time to cone 6. Lastly, I added 22k gold luster details before firing a third and final time.

Mama measures approximately 3.5” tall.

Baby measures approximately .75” tall.

Bear Baby measures approximately 1.75“ tall.
