This creepy container is the teacher of hard knocks so whatever you choose to put inside, she can be trusted to keep it tight.

This creepy container was made as a demonstration for my class, Creepy Containers, that I teach from my home studio. I handmade her from rolled slabs of white porcelain. For the lips I added color to make a tinted porcelain. Once the shape was formed, I handpainted with underglaze and then bisque fired the piece. The inside has a blend of different glazes and the outside is clear glazed. After firing to cone 6, I added 22k gold luster details to the face and lid before a third and final firing.

Snake Teacher with lid is is 6” x 4.5” x 5.25”.

Without her lid she is 4” x 4” x 4”.

She is signed on the bottom.
