I’m incredibly excited to share my newest zine will be launching on May 8th at the LA Art Book Fair. If She was Beholden, Could She Ever Be the Beholder, is a hand-cut and assembled artist zine filled with illustrations originally created with a mix of ink, graphite, and gouache. The book is a primal scream of rage against a world filled with misogyny and other outrages that never seem to get better. This is rage is loosely intertwined with imagery and references to the story of Medusa and her relationship with Athena. And while the struggle in this story can feel hopeless and unwinnable, the book still ends with encouragement to keep bettering ourselves and while fighting injustice.
