This house sphinx is nothing short of magnificent, a true splendor to behold, the eighth wonder of the world (they added a spot just for her), and a true privilege to behold. I really love her.
This large vase was carefully handbuilt with stoneware and handpainted with underglaze. Her inside has a turquoise crackle glaze and the outside is clear glazed except for her face which is unglazed. After firing to cone 6, I added additional patterns and detail with 22k gold luster before firing a third and final time.
This piece is approximately 10”L x 8”W x 11.5”H, and is signed on the bottom.
