This snake priestess alter that can also serve as a vase was handmade from rolled slabs of a pale stoneware. In the center there is a small alter built into the vase that is 1.5” high. Once the shape was formed, I handpainted the piece with underglaze. After applying multiple glazes both inside and out, the priestess was fired to cone 6. Lastly, to make her even more special, I added 22k gold luster details before a final firing.
This alter / vase is approximately 6” tall and is signed on the bottom.
