This piece was part of my 2026 show titled, Verucas’s Daughter, at The Arts Center in Corvallis, OR. The theme of the show was to ask if in the present moment, must every work be a deeply meaningful commentary on the world, or is it enough if it simply makes the us smile for a moment?
I handbuilt I am Here for You, using a pale stoneware. After forming the shape, I used colorful underglazes to create the lady and her snake. After putting her through the bisque kiln, I applied multiple glazes to create different effects and fired again to cone 6. Once cooled, I added patterning and details with 22k gold luster followed by a third and final firing.
This piece is approximately 9.5” tall, and is signed on the bottom.
