Cats make up a good portion of my life and art, #toxoplasmosis4life. But if you saw my home you would see that out of reach from cat paws that knock things down, many collections of small trinkets that feel like little altars. Hence this Cat Altar which is perfect for holding objects of special meaning or candles when needing calm and serenity.

I handbuilt this piece from a pale stoneware and handpainted with underglaze. After bisque firing I applied a clear glaze to the cat as well as other glazes to the alter for a different effect. The piece was then fired to cone 6. Lastly I applied details with 22k gold luster before a third firing.

Cat Altar measures 7”L x 6”W x 7H”, and is signed on the bottom.
