Learn how to make your own Candle Creature with Erika Rier over the course of three weekly classes in her home ceramic studio.

• All skill levels welcome!

• Class size limited to four students for more individual instruction.

• Use the entire time for working, I’ll take care of clean up.

Dates: WENDESDAYS, Septmber 9th, September 16th, and September 23rd

Time: 6pm - 9pm

Location: Classes hosted in my home studio in Portland, Oregon’s Foster Powell neighborhood. Exact address provided via email.

Pricing: $225

• Includes instruction, materials, application of clear glaze to student pieces, and firing.

Agenda:

• Week 1: Using pinch and coil techniques, build one creature of whatever size you can make in allotted time (usually between 9-12” tall)

• Week 2: Decorate creatures with underglaze.

  • Depending on complexity of design, session may not require the full allotted time.

• Week 3: Add additional decorations and details with colorful and clear glazes.

  • Depending on complexity of design, session may not require the full allotted time.

  • Workshop does not include gold luster.

• Pieces will be ready for pickup approximately one month after class .

Class Policies:

• Lessons cannot be rescheduled or refunded, but with seven day notice, will receive credit that can be applied to future classes and / or online shop.

  • Classes are transferable with prior approval.

• Classes begin promptly on time. Lessons cannot be extended and if arriving late will miss instruction and work time.
