Join me for a one day workshop where I will teach you all the basics of handpainting on ceramics with underglaze. Each student will get to pick one piece of greenware made by me for painting! Think of it as paint your own pottery except with information and the least generic greenware you can image!

• All skill levels welcome! Come to learn or come to hang out and paint.

• Class size limited to four students for more individual instruction.

• Use the entire time for working, I’ll take care of clean up.

Location: Classes hosted in my home studio in Portland, Oregon’s Foster Powell neighborhood. Exact address provided via email.

Pricing: $150

• Includes one piece of greenware, instruction, underglazes, application of clear glaze to student pieces, and firing.

Agenda:

• Sketch ideas with graphite on greenware.

• Discuss, demonstrate, and practice best practices for applying underglaze.

• Learn about techniques for glazing over underglaze

  • (Students will not be glazing pieces)

• Receive handout of recommended underglazes.

• Pieces will be available for pickup approximately month after class.

Class Policies:

• Lessons cannot be rescheduled or refunded, but with seven day notice, will receive credit that can be applied to future classes and / or online shop.

  • Classes are transferable with prior approval.

• Classes begin promptly on time. Lessons cannot be extended and if arriving late will miss instruction and work time.
