This cute little lady was part of a series of three vases called The Walkers, from my gallery show CACOPHONY. The show was about daily noise which surrounds us. If we sit with the noise, let the messages filter through the chaos, we may find things we need to hear even if they are uncomfortable or even painful.

I slab built this porcelain vase by hand. After assembling the form and attaching the nose, ears, and arm, I handpainted with underglaze to create the face, hair and bow. After going through a bisque firing, the vase was glazed with a red interior and clear exterior. The dress patterning is an overlay of red and clear glazes. Lastly she was fired to cone 6.

This vase is approximately 10” x x9” x 3” tall and is signed on the bottom.
