I love cats + I love lamps = CAT LAMPS! This particular one shows a three headed calico cat that I especially enjoyed painting, and a snake for good measure.
I handmade this lamp with a pale stoneware. After building the shape, I handpainted the three calico cats, and snake with underglaze. Once the piece was bisque fired, I applied a clear glaze to make it shine, and a crystal glaze inside the neck. After firing the glazed lamp to cone 6, I added patterning and details with 22k gold luster followed by a third and final firing.
This lamp is approximately 16.5” x 8 × 5”.
It comes wired with a fabric cord, and a Tala Squirrel Cage LED bulb.
It is signed on the bottom.
