Neoclassical Lumpy Black Cat Lamp with 22k Gold Luster

$650.00

If you were to ask me what was the inspiration for this lamp, I would say if a toddler made an Egyptian vessel for the goddess Vast, and then added wiring to make it into a lamp. So rarely do I land the execution so perfectly!

I handmade this lamp with a pale stoneware. After building the shape, I handpainted the cat and flowers with colorful underglaze. Once the piece was bisque fired, I applied a clear glaze to make it shine, and a crystal glaze to the inside of the neck. After firing the glazed lamp to cone 6, I added details with 22k gold luster, followed by a third and final firing.

This lamp is approximately 14” x 7.25” x 7.25”.

It comes wired with a fabric cord, and a Tala Squirrel Cage LED bulb.

It is signed on the bottom.
