Moth Wall Plate with 22k Gold Luster

$48.00

Moths, because when they aren’t eating your clothes, they are beautiful.

OR

Moths, the red headed step child to the butterfly.

Either way, moths, am I right?

I handmade each of these moth wall plates with a pale stoneware. After slab rolling and forming the shape, I handpainted each moth with multiple underglazes. Once bisque fired and cooled, I applied a clear glaze to the front and fired a second time to cone 6. Lastly, I added 22k gold luster for the antennas and fired for a third and final time.

Each moth is approximately 4.75” x 3.25” x .25”, is ready to hang with hand tied loops, and are signed on the back.
