The way I feel about painting soup bowls is not too different from the way you might feel by day four of slurping on a pot of home made vichyssoise.

I handmade this bowl from a pale stoneware using a pinch and coil technique. Once the shape was formed, I laboriously handpainted the entire bowl with underglaze. After bisque firing, I applied a clear glaze to the interior and exterior to make it food safe and shiny. I then reloaded the bowl into my kiln and fired her to cone 6 thus completing the process.

This fucking bowl measures 7” across and is approximately 2.25” deep. It is also signed on the bottom.
