This mug memorializes one of the best remarks I have ever been blessed to hear come from the mouth of a child. The assignment was to answer the question, “how is your life like Steinbeck’s?”. And in my opinion, no better response has ever been given other than, “all my wives also left me”.

This mug which is part of my series, Big Hair / Big Ideas, was handmade with a pale stoneware and handpainted with underglaze. After bisque firing, I added a dark crystal glaze to the inside and clear to the outside. Once it was through the glaze kiln, I applied 22k gold luster details before a third and final firing.

This mug is 3” tall, holds approximately 8 fl oz and is signed on the bottom.
