Drawing from my deep appreciation of Beat Poetry, I love to combine fragments of overheard conversations and reassemble them to create new meaning. In this example, one lady is contemplating the other who is worried she will become lost in her own abyss. While I no longer remember the context of these two quotes, it no longer matters within this newly formed conversation collage.

This mug which is part of my series, Big Hair / Big Ideas, was handmade with a pale stoneware and handpainted with underglaze. After bisque firing, I added a pink speckled glaze to the inside and clear to the outside. Once it was through the glaze kiln, I applied 22k gold luster details before a third and final firing.

This mug is 4.25” tall, holds approximately 12 fl oz and is signed on the bottom.
