This piece was part of my 2026 show titled, Verrucas’s Daughter, at The Arts Center in Corvallis, OR. The theme of the show was to ask if in the present moment, must every work be a deeply meaningful commentary on the world, or is it enough if it simply makes the viewer smile for a moment? In this particular piece, a three eyed lady captures my feelings when she says, “I think it’s all pointless”. It is meaningful and silly, much like me!

I handmade this wall plate with a pale stoneware. After slab rolling and forming the shape, I handpainted the lady with multiple underglazes. Once she was bisque fired and cooled, I applied a clear glaze to the front and then fired to cone 6. Lastly, I added 22k gold luster details and fired for a third and final time.

She measures  10.5”x 6.25”, ready to hang with hand tied ribbon loops. She is signed on the back.
