This wall plate was part of my gallery show, CACOPHONY which was about the daily noise which surrounds us. If we sit and let the messages filter through the chaos, we may find things we need to hear even if they are uncomfortable or painful. As is the case with this divine lady who captures the sentiment of one of the many over heard quotes that find their way into my work.

I handmade this wall plate from porcelain. After slab rolling and forming the shape, I handpainted the lady with underglaze. After bisque firing, I applied a clear glaze to the front and then fired to cone 6. Lastly I added 22k gold luster details before a third and final firing.

She measures  7.5” x 8”, ready to hang with macramé loops, and is signed on the bottom.
