Jabberwocky

Jabberwocky

The poem, Jabberwocky, by Lewis Carroll has long been one of my favorite poems. Recently, my daughter decided to memorize this poem as part of her homeschooling language arts. While listening to her practice the poem I couldn’t help but to start imaging what all of the creatures and characters would look like. The idea of illustrating the poem as a two-sided, accordian fold zine came to me.

The zine has 4 panels of illustration done in ink and marker. The poem is written along the bottom edge of the zine so that the poem lines up with the action and characters as depicted in the illustrations. The zine is printed on a lovely 66 lb. vellum bristol paper.
