I’m always looking for new ways to push myself, refine my skills, and expand my product offerings to help support myself as an artist. I’ve been toying with the idea of making lapel pins for the past year, but just couldn’t make myself commit to the financial outlay or choose just one design to make. So, I decided to start making completely handmade pins instead.
Each of these pins is hand-drawn and one-of-a-kind as a result. I create each drawing using pens and markers on shrink film. Once they’ve been baked I carefully seal and glaze each pin before gluing on a pinback with an industrial strength adhesive.
I’ve had great success with these at the first two events I’ve brought them to. Drawing on shrink film is tricky at best, so I feel like it is an excellent exercise to improve my pen control, which is just another benefit of these little guys.
You can purchase available pins here in my shop. I also take custom pin requests.
